46th Blues Music Awards with Eliza Neals in the House!
Well I made the pilgrimage to Memphis to hang out with my fellow musicians who play modern blues (like myself) traditional Blues and every genre keeping the blues alive. I had a good time and If I missed you sorry about that but I was moving fast 🙂 Congratulations to the Winners and Nominees!
My cover photo is Jovin Webb, who was an American Idol finalist, we got to meet for the first time and yes he’s good looking plus has a great voice you gotta hear. But before the awards I made my waves on Beale Street catching up with music buddies.
Great to run into Paul and Shemekia when I first arrived as they were coming out of the Blues Music Hall of Fame induction event. Shemekia has always been so very nice to me on my music journey and Paul, I have performed multiple times for his venues and festivals worldwide.
Finally got to bond with Robin Kapsalis and Al Green of ‘Piper and the Hard Times’ on the street called Beale, yes we had some fun!

Eden Brent and I together two piano players in different Modern Blues styles say hey and yuk it up a bit. Congratulations Eden on your win and love the piano purse xxo.
Joe Louis Walker my friend had passed away just before the awards show. I hoped they would have an image for him and they did. Many of his musician friends had something to say and also dedicated their performances to Joe. Have a listen to Rick Estrin above his brother from another mother way back in San Fran. Rest in Peace Joe you are in my thoughts and prayers.
