IT Blues gifted “Thunder In The House” review

“This artist has gifted thirteen albums to her audience—and, ultimately, to the entire Blues community. *Thunder in the House* is a work that defines a genre: Rock & Blues. Rock guitars, rhythms, and sounds are wrapped in the warm blanket of the blues, while Eliza’s voice—raspy, energetic, and strikingly expressive—proves simply perfect for the material.

I would love to see her perform live; if this is the energy she unleashes in the studio, imagining what might happen on stage is almost an exercise in pure imagination.

Among the tracks I appreciated most is “One Monkey,” a true anthem for life. It is an exhortation to cast aside doubt, break free from fear, look in the mirror, and rediscover oneself. For, as the song reminds us, no monkey stops the show: worries can wait, but life cannot. A simple, direct, yet incredibly powerful message.

The album concludes with the title track, “Thunder in the House,” which brings us back to the realm of classic blues—the kind that speaks to its most traditional fanbase. Here, the lyrics turn introspective: a lament of despair recounting the loss of self, as if the storm in the title were raging within the soul rather than the house.
