First all sold out Blues Awards Dinner in recent Blues Foundation history. 1500+ tickets sold in support of the Blues most of it going to the museum and Hall of Fame
Congratulation Jay Sieleman (top photo) for receiving a standing ovation, thirteen years as president and CEO, turning the foundation around with pure love.
Unreal performances by Sugaray Rayford, Selwyn Birchwood, John Hammond and Charlie Musselwhite, as well as Keb’ Mo’ and so many, to many to list! Tommy Brown, Eric Clapton and Little Richard were inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame! Here is the list of winners for 2015!
Blues Foundation Awards Dinner with Howard Glazer and Blues HOF Member Bobby Rush. I was excited to hear, see and meet so many musicians I have heard literally all my life. In addition to the Cook Convention Center was the Sheraton directly across the street where most of the musicians hung out.
“Making a Scene” owner Richard L’hommedieu and Super KBA Publicist to the Stars Frank Roszak!
Indie-Blues Artist JP Blues and I during the awards show. We both share many of the same charts together as well as Midnight-Circus latest indie-blues Volume#1!
Guitarist Mark Telesca of Boca Raton, Florida who invited me up to his Jam at “The Funky Biscuit”
My night was grand and I was able to hold back the tears as the Blues Foundation did their tributes to the many blues artists that passed away between the last dinner and this one. Here is a pic of Detroit’s Queen of the Blues Alberta Adams.
Until next year because I hope to be attending again and for my first trip to the Awards I am happy to tell you Memphis and the Foundation is amazing!
