Thank You Walter Trout and Highline NYC!
Sometimes dreams do come true. About two years ago Walter Trout and I became associates on Facebook, lol. I followed along watching in amazement at his guitar prowess+progress post liver transplant surgery hoping him well. We shared the 2015 Blues-Rock charts together at a time when there were no women at the top. Walter must have taken note.
Well time went on and as all my friends do, we comment on silly crap from the road. Walter is one of the funniest musicians alive cause he cracks me up almost every other day with his road warrior sense of humor if you’re wondering just look up his facebook page and get ready.
So I got up the nerve to ask him if I could sit in at one of his shows. He said yes I was thrilled and nervous at the same time. Eventually we performed together in what was a closing blues club that’s now ‘open’ again called Callahan’s check out the story here!
The night in NYC was a thrill and everyone in attendance loved us and of course Walter and his super band just tore the roof off the joint! I met many of my NY fans who came out, it was great to see everyone. Photographer Greg Logan came and shot some fantastic photos like the one above. Greg photos all the ‘real music made the hard way’ bands and I’m glad, after long last I have been included.
I know I’m headed back into the studio over the next few months and only can continue to dream about the future. When the feeling hits I know better to record it on my trusty notebook or sing into my personal recording device called iphone (thanks Steve Jobs.) You never know if or when I will get this opportunity again but having it once is plenty for me. Thank you Walter Trout and his management team for having my band open up for you.
